Below is a preview of the jacket for the band Chozpareï, from Montpellier France. They are currently recording their 4th album and asked to use “The Diving Lesson” as part of the jacket image.
“The Evolution of Flora” is an original kinetic steel sculpture. It was installed in front of the Performance Arts Center in downtown Colorado Springs in June 2009, as part of the cities 11th Annual Art on the Streets Exhibition and Competition. The milestone event boasted its largest number of entries and its highest caliber of artwork to date, hosting Artist from across the country and abroad. Participating for the 1st time and the only out-of-state artwork to place, ”The Evolution of Flora” was proud to received the competition’s 3rd prize and 5k award.
“The Evolution of Flora” has since been purchased by Colorado Springs’ Performance Arts Center, where it continues to reside.

It was one of 13 works chosen this year from a record number of submitting Artists from across the country and abroad. The opening reception is scheduled for 6/26/2009.)
This sculpture was entirely hand formed and fabricated from just a few of the most basic steel elements, those being steel sheet, rod and pipe. Standing at about 11′ tall, as you move up the undulating trunk it diverges into two large branches. From these branches emerge a number of smaller branches that move outward and support both leaves and large “flowers” that also resemble propellers. From these branches, all of its “flower-pellers” spin, and its leaves flutter, in the slightest breeze, (as the “flower-pellers” are balanced and spin on bearings, and the leaves are hinged to their respective branches).

Wall Sculpture: This wall sculpture was commissioned to hang outdoors in the clients courtyard. It measures 52″x 50″x 6.5″, and is made of steel and copper treated with a patina finish. In addition, the piece is lit from inside each of the three rectangular sections.
